a map of people in chicago going to work and then going home via their geotagged tweets (via gapersblock)
Is this the structure of Chicago? (by Eric Fischer)
Really neat graphic. Seems most like the structure of Chicagoans commuting with smart phones.
One could make some interesting correlations to the high # of smart phone commuters along the NB Edens I/94 and Lake Shore Drive, which passes thru some of Chicago’s wealthiest burbs (Glenview, Wilmette, Winnetka) , and the smaller # of tweets running along the SB Edens, which passes thru more middle-lower income burbs (Englewood, Chatham, Roseland). Also interesting is the barely visible Eisenhower I/90 which passes thru the neighborhoods of East Garfield Park, N Lawndale, Oak Park, Berwyn, etc. Would love to see this map with shades connotating the area’s per capita income.
